Epical holds three Microsoft-recognized specialization credentials that are backed by Microsoft’s specialization framework. Microsoft states that specializations build on Solutions Partner designations and are assessed through requirements in performance, skilling, and customer success, with some Azure specializations also requiring validation by Microsoft and/or a third-party vendor through automatic checks or manual review.
- Analytics on Microsoft Azure – audited and monitored. Microsoft describes this specialization as validating deep experience in planning and delivering analytics solutions on Microsoft Azure. Epical has also publicly stated that it holds the Analytics on Microsoft Azure specialization.
- Microsoft AI & Machine Learning specialization – audited and monitored. Epical publicly announced this Microsoft specialization in 2024 and stated that it was awarded following an audit. Microsoft’s current partner documentation now lists the comparable Azure specialization under the name AI Platform on Microsoft Azure.
- Azure Migration and Modernization Specialization – audited and monitored. Epical publicly announced this specialization in 2026, and Microsoft’s partner program also documents the specialization Migrate Enterprise Applications to Microsoft Azure for partners that meet the relevant requirements.

More than a standard partner designation
A Microsoft specialization demonstrates more than a standard Solutions Partner designation. Microsoft states that specializations further differentiate a partner’s deep technical expertise in high-demand customer scenarios, and that requirements differ by specialization but include measures across performance, skilling, and customer success. Microsoft also states that some specializations require an audit or customer references as part of the validation process.
For Azure specializations, Microsoft states that requirements are verified by Microsoft and/or a third-party vendor, either automatically or by manual review. Epical’s own public announcements about its Microsoft AI & Machine Learning specialization and its Azure Migration and Modernization Specialization both explicitly refer to the audit process.
After qualification, specialization-related status sits within Microsoft’s ongoing partner-capability framework in Partner Center, where Microsoft tracks partner progress across performance, skilling, and customer success.
